After spending a few days twiddling my thumbs, I've decided that's no way to spend nine months. Nine months of dead air on a blog is probably a bad idea, too.
So here's my plan: I have thirty seven weekends between now and October 1st. In those thirty seven weekends, I plan to really explore New York and environs, and have some much smaller-scale adventures, from several hours to several days in length. Here's my list of things I intend to accomplish/places I intend to visit, blogging about each one along the way, of course:
- New York Aquarium
- The Great Saunter
- Brooklyn Flea Market
- Williamsburg
- Greenwood Cemetery
- Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
- City Island
- The Cloisters
- Montreal
- Niagara Falls
- Governor's Island
- Castle Gould/Sands Point, NY
- Explore Roosevelt Island
- See a movie at IFC
- PS 1 Contemporary Art Center
- Walk the length of Staten Island
- Prospect Park
- Montauk Point State Park
- Boston
- Socrates Sculpture Park
Dude, you're kind of cool. And by cool I mean you're the sh**. Becky and I were discussing this yesterday but we think it would be cool to get on each subway line and ride it from beginning to end. Like get on anywhere and just get off at the end and explore. Coney Island is pretty great. During winter. It's abandoned and the sunsets are prime. Becky and I also want to go hiking near Heart Lake. I guess that's kind of out of town but the MTA will get you there (or so they claim). So...

- hiking trails in NY. Heart Lake, perhaps.
- Guggenheim Mansion, Long Island
- Banksy art search
Krystal. That's awesome. Going to the NY Aquarium at Coney Island is on my list, so we should definitely make that happen. And catch a wintry sunset while we're there.
